Janine Gawel is budgeter and proposal coordinator in Business Development. Her work includes coordinating and managing the grant proposal and budget development process, and conducting research to inform PRB’s business development efforts. Gawel has both domestic and international experience with a wide range of business development aspects, including research, writing, budgeting, managing proposal processes, and implementing initiatives to improve efficiency. She previously worked for the Chicago-based nonprofits Skills for Chicagoland’s Future, and the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning. She served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ukraine from 2011 to 2013. Gawel holds a master’s degree in public affairs from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Southern Illinois University. She speaks Russian and some French.
