Deborah Mesce is program director for international media training in International Programs. Mesce coordinates PRB s training of journalists in developing countries. Since joining PRB in 2000, she has worked with journalists in Africa, Asia, and Latin America to help them strengthen and raise the profile of their reporting on population issues. Her projects include seminars, study tours, and mentorship programs. Mesce previously worked for The Associated Press in Connecticut and later in Washington, D.C., where she covered health and welfare issues at the Department of Health and Human Services, in Congress, and in the courts. In 1998, she served as a Knight International Press Fellow, teaching at a university in Beirut and training Lebanese journalists. She holds a bachelor s degree in communications from the University of Vermont.
