While
the
U.S.
economy
has
shown
signs
recovery
since
the
Great
Recession,
inequality
among
America
million
working
families
has
increased.
The
unemployment
rate
has
fallen
from
post-recession
high
9.6
percent
2010
4.4
percent
2017
lowest
level
since
2000.
However,
gains
the
lower
end
the
income
spectrum
have
been
slower
than
those
the
top.

In
2016,
the
top
percent
working
families
received
more
than

the
total
income
received
the
bottom
percent
working
families.
To put

way,
the
richest
percent
working
families
took
home
nearly
half
(49
percent)
all
income,
while
those
the
bottom
percent
received
less
than

pie.
